9 year old Bittu's father is a farmer deep in debt. Bittu who was once carefree, brave and boisterous now fears losing his father as he watches him slowly breakdown due to the pressure of debt.While grappling with his fear, Bittu does whatever he can to protect his father. Amidst all the suffering, the farmers in the village celebrate the bull worshipping festival Pola as a symbol of gratitude and respect towards their profession.
